Confetti Canon

What I have here is a PVC "Confetti Canon". This is to be mounted onto a giant fake champagne bottle and will be used in a local professional play. Working on writing up plans now for sale on my website soon. I used fittings entirely from PVC Fittings Direct. I had originally purchased my fittings from my local "big box" store, but returned them when I found I could not really get the fittings I needed. One requirement of my design was to use an adaptor that would go from 4" down to 1" - this would require gluing multiple adaptors together to achieve this if I used the original fittings - but you folks actually carry this fitting in stock. And your prices beat the "big box" store as well. Great job guys!

Domestic Hot Water Heat Exchanger/Heat Recovery System

Recover waste heat from drain water by transferring waste energy to incoming cold water supply.

Approximately 80-90% the energy in hot water in today’s homes goes down the drain. US Department of energy estimates that 45% of US residential hot water heaters are electric and use 740 billion kWh of electricity each year.

A typical electric hot water heater uses approximately 4500 kWh to run per year and at an average cost of $0.1065 per kWh that’s almost $500 per year and 4000 lbs of CO2!

Third party studies have shown that waste water heat exchanges are up to 80% efficient and 60% efficient on average. Based on the above numbers a waste water heat exchanger can save about $180 per year when used with an electric hot water heater.

The cost effectiveness of this device can pay for itself in as little as 2 years!

Other devices installed vertically cannot absorb heat at the rate of falling water. My device is designed to work horizontally giving more time for the water to transfer its energy to the supply water.

Based on laws of thermodynamics heat energy will always move in the path of least resistance towards the lowest point of energy. In this case the cold water.

Other devices use a large volume of copper inhibiting the transfer of energy and restricting water flow. My device uses only 1 layer of copper thus shorting the path for heat transfer without restricting flow. This also drastically reduces the cost and increases the return on investment for the home owner.

This heat exchanger is perfectly suited as it is placed right before the hot water tank and water flows only when the hot water is requested enabling the heat on the return to pass directly to water on its way to the heater.

The optimal length is 60" - please allow enough space for unit.
