Making Push up Bars out of PVC

Hey everyone, we at pvcfittingsdirect.com would like to start sharing some of our relatively obscure ideas regarding do it yourself projects around the home. So to start the series off, our first and simplest idea is how to make Push up Bars with PVC Fittings.

We will list all the items you need, where you can get the items, and give you step by step instructions on how to assemble the Push up Bars. So to begin, you will need these items: (for each push up bar, so two sets of all these items):

  1. Four 1” Fipt Caps
  2. Two 1” Tees Fipt x Fipt x Fipt
  3. Two 1” 90 Elbows Fipt x Fipt
  4. Six 1”xclose Nipples Fipt x Fipt
  5. One 1”x8” Nipple Fipt x Fipt

The first step is to clean off the PVC fittings and nipples for sanitary purposes. Then, start with 2 of the caps and two 1”x close nipples. Take the nipples and screw them into the caps as tightly as possible. Then take one of the Tees and screw both caps with nipples attached into the horizontal part of the tee, so they extend the tee horizontally. The next step is to take another of the 1”x close nipples and attach it to the last lone side of the Tee. Once that is complete do that again with the remaining two Caps, three 1” x close nipples, and Tee. The next step is to take both of the 90 Elbows and attach them to the 1 x 8 Nipple. Make sure that they are screwed on tight, but also make sure both elbows are pointing parallel. (Make sure both are on straight and pointing directly down to the ground) The final step is to attach both legs of the push up bar. Take one of the Tee assemblies and attach it to one side of the 1 x 8 Nipple via the 90 Elbow. Then do the same for the other side. After this you should have a push up bar completed.

Remember you need two sets of the items listed above in order to make two push up bars. We will post a video tutorial as soon as possible and some pictures of the completed push up bar as well.

Remember to check out PVCFittingsDirect.com to see all the items you need to make the Push up Bars. Good luck, and enjoy your push up bars.
