Choosing the right PVC Glue
Red Hot Blue Glue - This glue is a thin, quick drying Blue PVC cement. Primer NOT required. Primary uses: Irrigation, general repairs, small diameter connections under 2 ½”.
Weld-On Cement #711 - This glue is a thick (heavy bodied), slow setting, Grey cement. Primer required. Primary uses: SCH40 AND SCH80 Larger diameter pipes – between 3” to 12”, and for high pressure lines.
Weld-On Cement #705 - This glue is a thin, quick setting CLEAR cement. Primer NOT required. Primary uses: small diameter connections up to 4”, above ground application where you would not want blue cement staining the pipe, for example: Jacuzzi, Pool, etc.
Weld-On Cement #721- This glue is a fast setting, thin bodied, blue PVC cement. Primer is required. Primary uses: Irrigation, general repairs, small diameter connections – less than 3” diameter.
Weld-On Purple Primer #P-70 - This is a purple, high quality Primer. Primary uses: Clean ABS, CPVC, PVC, and Styrene pipe before cementing; effective in both cold and warm weather.
Weld-On Multi Purpose 790 – This glue is a transitional, thick bodied, slow setting cement. Primer is required. Primary uses: connecting different materials (for example: PVC connection to ABS or Styrene), and for drainage systems using DWV (Drain, Waste & Vent) pipe and fittings. Weld-On 794 ABS – PVC Green - This glue is a transitional, thick bodied, slow setting cement. Primer is required. Specifically used for connecting PVC to ABS, small diameter connections up to 4”. |
